JC 66 Bottrop achieves a historic victory against Potsdam

Bottrop.
Bundesliga club JC 66 Bottrop landed their first victory on the fourth day of the fight. Hosts can compensate for outages. These fighters took the points.

The JC 66 Bottrop finally got his first booty. The Bottrop “Pirates” celebrated their first victory on the fourth day of the current Bundesliga season. With the 8:6 (74:57) against UJKC Potsdam, the team around JC trainer Markus Wallerich achieved something almost historic: For the first time in 18 years, the 66ers were able to win against the competitor from Brandenburg. “Therefore, we are of course all the more pleased that we have achieved this success,” said the JC coach, who was thoroughly satisfied.

Wallerich had every reason to do so on the day of the fight. Because in the first home fight of the current season, the Bottropers presented themselves from their concentrated and experienced side and made it immediately clear against the UJKC that they absolutely wanted to do everything possible to keep the two points at home. This goal should also be achieved through the appearances of the two Dutchmen Jelle Snippe and Tornike Tsjakadoea, who came to the train against Potsdam. “The two are of course guaranteed points and are very good for the team,” said Wallerich.

JC 66 Bottrop can rely on his two Dutchmen

The two Dutchmen proved that Snippe, who celebrated his season debut in JC dress against Brandenburg, and Tsjakadoea can be relied on: With impressive performances in the first round, they played a major part in the 66ers being on their own at the break Halle led 4:3 and seemed well on their way to their first win. In the end, both should keep their clean slate and win both fights.

“We were very pleased. But the other guys also worked hard and presented themselves really well. All in all, it was a strong team effort,” praised Markus Wallerich. Because in addition to the foreign reinforcements, the Bottrop homegrown talents have once again convinced. The 66ers could even afford to compensate for the short-term losses of Hamsat Isaev and Dan Matuschowitz. “So we didn’t necessarily start in the best formation,” said Wallerich. “However, our opponents from Potsdam were also affected by failures. So it has balanced out to some extent.”

Lightweight points for JC 66 Bottrop to break leadership

Lightweight Nicolas Kutscher and Tom Droste finally contributed the further points for the break lead. In the rematches, Eugen Müller and Nikita Djadin turned their bets on the mats into point gains for the JC 66. The latter could have scored points for the Bottrop team in the first round, but Djadin lost out to Potsdam’s Georg Siegemund after just 29 seconds. “He slept a little there,” Wallerich smiled afterwards and emphasized that the subsequent performance was all the more praiseworthy. “He reacted really well.”

With the first victory under their belt, the Bottropers improved to sixth place in the northern relay. The success should give the team additional self-confidence for the coming weeks. “We can be very satisfied with the overall development. We’ll take the momentum with us and want to look for our chance in the upcoming duel as well.”

A summer break of more than two months is now ahead of the Bottropers. The JC 66 won’t compete in the next Bundesliga match until August 26th, when the Hamburg judo team will be in Bottrop. “A demanding task,” said Wallerich, with a view to the duel with the current leader from the north, “but we really want to annoy Hamburg.”
