Bucerias, Nayarit.- It took 6 years for a triathlonist to get on the podium in the highest national competition.
Aranza Illescas, from Tijuana, took the silver medal in what was the start of the triathlon in the Aquathlon modality, category 13-15 years old, timing 16:35 of the test that was run on the FIBA Nayarit club track in the municipality de Bucerías, within the CONADE 2023 Nationals.
The Aquathlon test consists of running a thousand meters, then they swim 400 meters completing a circuit in the open sea and finish off with another thousand meters running.
In the Supersprint modality, 300-meter swim, 5-kilometer bike and one-kilometer run, Ana Sofía Corona was placed among the five best triathlonists nationwide and Leopoldo Resendiz in Acuatlón 13-15 years old finished in sixth position.
