With the support of their fans at Maracanã, Fluminense beat Red Bull Bragantino 2-1 in a match valid for the ninth round of the Brazilian Championship. This Sunday’s goals (04/06), scored by Ganso and Felipe Melo, returned Tricolor to the G4 of the competition.

Under the command of coach Fernando Diniz, the team returns to the field on Wednesday (07/06) for the fifth round of the group stage of Conmebol Libertadores. The confrontation, against River Plate, takes place at 21:30, at the Monumental de Núñez. Leader of Group D with nine points, Fluminense needs only a draw to guarantee qualification for the round of 16 of the competition in advance.

FIRST TIME

Fluminense arrived for the first time with danger in the 9th minute. After receiving from Arias, Samuel Xavier invaded the area, cut to the middle and saw the finish explode in defense. The team continued looking for the attack, with emphasis on the search for Arias by Cano. But the first goal of the match, with an assist from the Colombian, came from Ganso’s feet. Arias started from the side and played for the number 10, centered, hitting the angle at 26.

In the 31st minute, Cano saw an opportunity to cover the goalkeeper and took a risk from the midfield without much danger. At 33 minutes, Ganso took a corner kick to Lima, who hit the post. On the rebound, Felipe Melo pushed the ball to the back of the net and widened. At 47 minutes, Arias beat the defender in the race to the area and rolled to Cano, who hit the first time and forced the goalkeeper to operate a miracle. In the last danger throw of the first stage, it was Lima’s turn to advance and hit close to the goal.

SECOND TIME

At 8 minutes of the second half, Thiago Borbas cashed for the opponent. Without feeling the blow, Tricolor continued to seek the attack with good moves, as in a move by Martinelli, who passed the opponent with a sheet inside the area and tried the pass to Cano at 18, and in a dash by Nino at 22, which ended in crossing of Lima for shirt 14.

In the 30th minute, Lelê advanced to the area, cut to the middle and tried to beat the goalkeeper’s countertime, which achieved a great defense. At 33, Samuel Xavier sent a bomb from afar over the goal.
