Five youth players get professional contracts, noise about Lucas Ehrlich!

Dresden – Five juniors have now made the leap to the pros, two changed clubs for a total of 300,000 euros in training compensation. The excellent youth work of Dynamo Dresden so it pays off. Nevertheless, after the U19s won 4-1 in the state cup final, there was against RB Leipzig noise.

Second in their Bundesliga season, state cup winner. The Dynamos U19s had an outstanding season.

Jonas Oehmichen (19), Paul Lehmann (18), Jonas Saliger (19), Julius Hofmann (19) and goalkeeper Erik Herrmann (18) have a professional contract in their pocket for the 2023/2024 season from the special 2004 vintage.

That is an enormously high level of upward permeability that not many Bundesliga clubs can offer. Lucas Ehrlich (19), who was still at the training camp in Belek in winter, is moving to the U23s of FC Augsburg in the regional league. Jonathan Akaegbobi (17) is drawn from the U17s to VfL Wolfsburg. There is money for both.

“The most important thing for me is that the young players develop every season. The successes of the last few years are of course positive for the external image and ensure good feedback. I think we have achieved both this season and that’s me more than satisfied”, young boss Jan Seifert (54) drew a positive conclusion in an interview on the club’s homepage.

“The U19s have a lot of talent in their ranks who bring special individual qualities to the table. They have managed, especially this season, to act as a team on the pitch and to emphasize the strengths of each individual,” he added.

All peace, joy, pancakes? Until the cup final on Friday, yes. Ehrlich then showed the cameras a t-shirt that he was wearing under his shirt.

There he criticized the lack of appreciation and gratitude. An own goal by Ehrlich or the truth? “I’m in my third year of training as a sports and fitness clerk at Dynamo,” he said in January at the training camp with the pros.

Double farewell: Two ex-Dynamos have to look for a club!

There can be no question of a lack of appreciation, and gratitude should go exactly in the other direction.

TAG24 also found out that Ehrlich had also been offered a professional contract because of his performance. But he rejected this in April. Instead, he is now moving to Augsburg.

It is also clear that not all A-Juniors are happy with the current situation. Despite the high permeability in the professional area, Dynamo is over for 80 percent of 19-year-olds – because there is no U23.
