Frankfurt versus Leipzig in the DFB Cup final in Berlin: There is no favorite for Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche. However, a comparison of the two teams shows that this is not entirely true.
NAfter the German championship at FC Bayern, the second national football title of the season will be awarded this Saturday (8 p.m. in the FAZ live ticker for the DFB Cup, on ZDF and on Sky). RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are playing for the DFB Cup in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. Who wins? The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung compared and rated both teams.
Frankfurt: Eintracht has played in a 3-4-2-1 for years. Under coach Glasner, however, more value is placed on the cultivated flat pass through the middle than on hasty actions via Kostic on the left wing or on risky through balls through the center immediately after winning the ball. Everything worked perfectly until the World Cup break, then injuries and numerous individual mistakes in defense brought general uncertainty to the team, from which the players only recently broke free. Glasner’s team acts variably when pressing. Depending on the opponent and their condition, it starts in the opponent’s penalty area, in the center circle or deeper in their own half.
