Eibar and Alavés tied 1-1 at Ipurua in the first leg of the playoff semifinals for promotion to the First Division and leave everything open for the return at Mendizorroza.

The Albiazul team, understanding the game well, showing themselves to be ironclad in defense and dangerously reaching the area defended by Luca Zidane, took the lead in the 9th minute with a goal from Mamadou Sylla. The Senegalese striker got ahead of the Armera defense and sent a throw-in thrown by Tenaglia into the back of the net.

In the final stretch of the first half, Eibar went even further, stealing near the rival area and creating danger through Matheus Pereira, a set piece specialist. Again through a side kick, in a poorly defended strategic action by the babazorro box, Blanco Leschuk extended with his head so that Stoichkov pulled a genius out of his hat finishing off with a scorpion and put the tables on the scoreboard on the brink of rest.

After the restart, the Eibarreses, displaying great football, pushed in search of victory, but Tejero, Bautista and Stoichkov ran into a successful Sivera. The expulsion of Arbilla, who did not measure well and swept Villalibre, weighed down the team led by Gaizka Garitano. Already with numerical superiority and clinging to the figure of Luis Rioja, Alavés pressed to achieve a goal that did not arrive. Everything will be decided on Thursday in Vitoria.
