Because Casemiro Has High Expectations for Bruno Fernandes

The Manchester United midfielder duo drew attention after the 2-0 win over Newcastle United in the League Cup final last February. Casemiro grabbed his teammate’s arm and started to grumble.

The former Real Madrid star is understood to have been displeased that Bruno Fernandes chose to shoot himself rather than pass the ball to him, who was in a better position, towards the end of play.

Similar incidents involved them again when MU beat Aston Villa 1-0 in the Premier League last April. The Brazil international was annoyed at Bruno Fernandes for taking possession of the ball too long so that his opponents could take over to counterattack.

Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes will now work together when Manchester United takes on Manchester City in the FA Cup final, Saturday (3/6) evening WIB. Casemiro actually revealed that his relationship with Fernandes was very good. This 31-year-old footballer is even amazed by his teammate.

“When I arrived here, language was a barrier for me and I was lucky because Bruno Fernandes helped me a lot,” he told the Guardian. “He was brilliant, and taught me a lot about the club. I have a very good relationship with Bruno, we get along really well.”

“I can say this with full confidence that he is one of the most important players at the club and everyone sees how great he is. However, to be honest and I said this to him that I have high hopes from him,” Casemiro continued.

“So when he misses a chance, when one of his passes doesn’t hit the target, we always want him to do everything perfectly, but that’s a natural conversation.”

“I never argued with Bruno, quite the opposite. It was a pleasure to play with him because in the end he was the driving force of the team, the player who helped us the most. You could say he was the engine of the team,” said Casemiro.
