On May 26, 2023 (Friday), Hirosaki University Regional Revitalization Headquarters co-sponsored with the Hirosaki City Board of Education to hold the “1st Hirosaki City Public Hall Staff Workshop” at the Hirosaki City Central Community Center Somakan Chokeikaku. It was held at A total of 84 people, including staff from 12 district public halls, the central public hall, and the board of education of Hirosaki City, participated.
First, Mr. Seiji Nagasawa, Professor Emeritus of Chiba University, gave a lecture on the theme of “Let’s confirm the basics of social education and community centers.” deepened. The participants listened with interest to the content of the lecture, which unraveled the social education method that forms the basis of daily work.
Next, facilitator Mr. Takuro Noguchi (Hirosaki City Community Center Revitalization Advisor) gave an explanation of the group work, after which each community center shared their impressions of the lecture content and asked questions to the lecturers. Comments such as “I’m glad I learned about the origins of the community center” and “I want the community center to listen to the voices of local residents and aim to become a community ‘tea room’ where people gather” were shared by all participants. In addition, the lecturer commented, “I hope that local residents and related staff will be able to exchange opinions, such as the ‘Hirosaki Community Center Convention’.”
Lastly, Associate Professor Koshimura Koshimura of the Faculty of Education explained the purpose of the workshop and the schedule for this year. A debriefing session of each district public hall will be held at the workshop.
