Urnieta: Cadet Borja Seco won the bronze medal in the Spanish School Judo Championship

A few dates ago, the 2023 Spanish School Judo Championship was held in Madrid. Judokas from the cadet and children’s categories from all provinces have taken part in it.

Two athletes from the Adarra de Urnieta Judo Club attended with the Basque Federation: Borja Seco, in the cadet category, and Elene Lizarribar in the infant category.

Borja Seco, in more than 90 kilos, obtained the bronze medal after beating a judoka from Madrid in the first round and the Andalusian representative in the second. After them he played the semifinal against the number one in the national ranking, with whom, despite being a very even match, he fell in the last seconds. He fought for the bronze medal against a Valencian judoka, whom he won by Ippon.

On the other hand, the judoka Elene Lizarribar, in the children’s category of more than 63 kilos, defeated the Balearic representative in the first round, but fell in the second against the Madrid and runner-up of Spain, in a very controversial fight. In the play-off she lost to the representative of Castilla y León.
