After the 7-3 defeat on Saturday evening, the Untouchables Paderborn had to admit defeat to the Dohren Wild Farmers on Sunday as well. With 5:4, the Wild Farmers won and with it the sweep in East Westphalia. Dohren quickly took the lead and extended it to 5-0 by the middle of the fifth inning. After that, the Paderborn offensive woke up, but then only came close to one point.

Edvardas Matusevicius scored the 1-0 in the first inning after an error in the Paderborn defense. Two periods later, Wester Bocio followed up with an RBI single. In the fourth inning, it was a sac fly by Robert Dröge that put the third run over the plate. RBI singles from Yodai Nakamura and Alejandro Hiraldo extended the lead to five points in the fifth round. After that, the U’s switched to Quinn DiPasquale and the Wild Farmers offensive was shut down.

Paderborn came into play better and shortened the lead with an RBI single from Linus Nixdorf in the fifth round. In the seventh inning, Finn Bergmann made it 3-5 with an RBI triple and the following run after an error. A sac fly by Luca Rammelmann made things really exciting in the eighth inning. But even if two more baserunners managed to get there, the equalizer wasn’t there anymore.

Roldan Ochoa allowed six hits, three runs (2 ER) and no walks in nine strikeouts in seven innings for Dohren. Ivan Galkin then brought the game to an end. Mark Harrison conceded the loss on the host side after three innings, three hits, three runs (1 ER) and two base on balls.
