The RFEF and the players agree on a family reconciliation plan for the 2023 World Cup

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the women’s national team players have signed a family reconciliation plan for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand 2023which will facilitate the trip of their direct relatives and that their children under two years of age can be with them.

As reported by the RFEF, the agreement was reached on the 16th but it was signed this Monday by its president, Luis Rubiales, and the team captains, Ivana Andrés, Irene Guerrero and Esther González and “it becomes a benchmark in the world of football , incorporating conciliation measures that follow the model of other national teams”.

“The RFEF has made an additional effort in order to provide the best possible conditions for the soccer players, and find the best solutions so that the players receive the support of their closest circle during the championship,” he said.

The body stressed that these measures are part of the policy of equalization of relative conditions between the men’s and women’s teams, as already agreed for the last Euro Cup in England 2022.

The Spanish selection will debut in the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand against Costa Rica, on July 21, 2023; they will play their second match against Zambia, rookie in the championship, on the 26th and close the group stage on the 31st against Japan.

The team led by Jorge Vilda is included in group C of the competition and will play the first phase of the tournament in New Zealand, between Wellington and Auckland. If they reach the round of 16, they will meet the qualifiers from group A, made up of teams from New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines and Switzerland.
