The Patagonian Integration Games ended with a good performance by the Neuquén delegation

During the three days that took place in Puerto Madryn, Neuquén obtained a total of 43 medals.

Neuquén had a golden closure in the 2nd Patagonian Integration Games (JIPA) that closed this afternoon in Puerto Madryn, Chubut. The third edition will have the province of Neuquén as the venue in 2024.

Medals in tennis, taekwondo, wrestling, climbing, badminton and archery rounded off the last day of competition, a day in which the provincial delegation won seven gold, six silver and four bronze medals.

Throughout the three days of competition Neuquén obtained 43 medals: 14 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze.

On the courts of the Puerto Madryn Tennis Club, Ignacio Piñeiro, who last year in La Pampa, had won the silver medal, this time had the pleasure of taking the gold medal by beating Valentín Jurado from Río Negro by a double 6-1. Julieta Deniz Reyes played at the same complex, who obtained the silver medal after losing in the final against Guadalupe Marina from Chubut by the same score.

Then Piñeiro and Joaquín Marchan lost the men’s doubles final against the duo from La Pampa.

The joy for the Neuquén delegation had continuity in the Municipal Gymnasium No. 1 in combat sports that had their closure by teams.

In this modality all the participants compete and add up for the province. Taekwondo, which won 12 medals throughout the tournament, once again had a great closing, winning the gold medal against Río Negro in the men’s TK3 modality.

The team led by Jano Alarcón was made up of Emiliano Dumigual, Tobías Bisoki and Gonzalo Torres. While the women’s team led by Zarina Menghini and made up of Valentina Becerra Torres, Lara León and Melani Rial, achieved bronze by losing to Tierra del Fuego in the semifinals.

In the fight, the team of Exequiel Gavilán and Georgina López (Thiago Espinoza, Melanie Azócar and Araceli Cardozo) won the bronze medal.

Sport climbing was the discipline that had its premiere in this edition and Neuquén also managed to make it to the podium. At the Club Andino, where the lectures were held, Nehuén Von Rola Reyes from Chosmal won the silver medal, while his brother Yagu and Helena Rico Galeano from San Martin got the bronze.

At Escuela 710 María Carbajal, where they competed in badminton, the Neuquén people took the podium in singles with the gold medals for Zaida Garcés and Valentín García. The latter, along with Ciro Vázquez from Chosmala, won silver in the men’s doubles and the women’s duo Zaida Garcés-Milagros Berraondo did the same. In the adapted modality, the discipline also obtained achievements with the gold of Luis Maldonado.

Finally, in archery, at the facilities of Escuela 193 Velero Mimosa, the team from Neuquén completed a perfect closing with the team gold medal with the duo Esteban Silva and Oriana González Vargas. In adapted, Sofía Aguirre Quintulén from June won the gold medal and Aldana Albarrán, the silver.

As in the first edition, these games were promotional in nature, for which medals are awarded by discipline and there is officially no general winner.
