The pre-selection is made up of Guillermo del Pino (Unicaja), Andy Huelves (Zentro Basket), Didac Cebolla (Valencia Basket), Raúl Villar (FC Barcelona), Eric del Castillo (Joventut Badalona), Máximo García-Plata (Movistar Estudiantes ), Ignacio Campoy (Real Madrid), Daniel Sancoi Balde (FC Barcelona), Rubén Salazar (Unicaja), Alberto Blanco (Real Betis Bto), Ian Platteuw (Joventut Badalona), Nicolás Gómez (Valencia Basket), Gildas Giménez (Real Madrid ), Miguel Martínez (Unicaja), Sergi Kemu Monzo (Valencia Basket) and Ignacio Rupérez (Real Madrid).
Xavi Albert will be the coach, helped on the bench by Carles Flores and Ferran Pizcueta. During these five days in Azuqueca, they will work with a group of players who have just played in the San Fernando Cadet Spanish Championship, with three players from the winning team (Gildas Giménez, Ignacio Rupérez and Nacho Campoy) and another three from the runner-up (Guillermo del Pino, Rubén Salazar and Miguel Martínez.)
Spain will defend the silver of the European U16 2022 that it achieved in the same venue: the Macedonian town of Skopje from August 5 to 13. In the first phase they will share a group with Israel, Germany and Finland.
