Sustainable Development Grand Prix: Christopher Hippolyte wins the 1st section of the second stage

For this 84 kilometer stage, around Saint-Joseph, it was solo that Christopher Hippolyte (Team Energizer) had fun crossing the finish line first in Gondeau au Lamentin this Saturday May 27, 2023. yellow jersey rests on the shoulders of Axel Carnier of the Pédale d’Or Joséphine. A second section is scheduled for this afternoon.

It was almost a quarter of the way, after the François, that a group of 8 riders took control of the race.

This group is reduced to 7, then 6 and finally to 5 after the descent of Josseaud.

On the RN5, Chistopher Hippolyte, Jean Emma Laurendot and Jonathan Ethienar place a decisive attack.

The three riders will ride together, but as the finish approaches Hippolyte changes gear and manages to win firstly Ethienar and then Laurendot.

It was in the last kilometres, at the height of the Jeanne D’Arc crossroads, that Christopher Hippolyte of Team Energiser definitively sealed his victory. Much more comfortable on a semi-mountainous profile, he distanced his pursuers to finish solo on the finish line in Gondeau.

I felt that victory was already possible in Sainte Luce… Usually I always take places of honor and I don’t win a stage, today I’m happy it’s a victory for my team .
