Seven medals for CBP Ordoño II in Gijón

Last Saturday, a broad representation of players from CBP Ordoño II from León traveled to Gijón to dispute a scoring event for the national ranking where all categories from sub 11 to senior were summoned with a booty of three golds, two silvers and two bronzes.

In the sub 13 category, Javier Melón won gold in the men’s singles event after playing close matches, beating the top seeds of the tournament, obtaining a well-deserved gold medal.

The other two gold medals were achieved in the senior category where Beatriz García won two golds, one in the B1 female doubles modality with Eva Canal and the other in B2 mixed doubles with Roberto García, performing high-level matches.

The silver medals were obtained by Pablo González in the sub 11 category, being one of his first competitions, and Paula González in the absolute category, losing in the final against the main favorite.

The bronze medals were achieved by Javier Melón and Jon García in the sub 13 male doubles and Nuria Alonso and Laura Alonso in the sub 19 female doubles.

Tudela de Duero

On Sunday, one of the most important badminton tests in the community was held in Tudela de Duero, the regional sub 17 and senior championship with the participation of four players from León, winning three silvers and one bronze.

In the senior category, Sergio González made his debut in this category, getting a silver medal in A1 male doubles together with his partner Rodrigo Macias (B. Tudela). Andrés Pérez in the sub 17 category won the silver medal in mixed doubles together with Daniela Corchon (B. Soria) and another silver in the men’s singles when the final came after facing his partner Pablo García in the semifinals, who therefore obtained the bronze .
