River and Talleres played a great first half at the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium and in fact they should have gone at halftime with goals, but the goalkeepers showed off and prevented it. In the second half, Martín Demichelis’s team started better but Talleres took the lead with two goals from Garro. At 33 minutes Matías Suárez discounted with a great header.
River comes from beating Boca 1-0 in a superclassic in which Martín Demichelis’s team was vastly superior from start to finish. He ended up winning it at the end with a penalty goal from Miguel Ángel Borja so that the more than 83,000 people who were at the Monumental exploded with joy. The only negative thing about the match was that after Borja’s goal there were incidents and the Millionaire suffered three expulsions: Agustín Palavecino, Ezequiel Centurión and Elías Gómez.
What’s next for River?
El Más Grande will once again have the whole week to work, just next Sunday, May 21, they will face Platense at the Monumental Stadium from 8:30 p.m. On May 25 it will be the turn to visit Sporting Cristal for the fourth date of Group D of the Copa Libertadores in what will be a fundamental match for Martín Demichelis’s team.
