The Senegalese justice has decided not to give a favorable response to the request for provisional release submitted by Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s lawyers.

The announcement of the rejection of the provisional release of the Secretary General of Pastef was made by El Malick Ndiaye. The latter is, itself, placed under an electronic bracelet.
As for Bassirou Diomaye Faye? The political leader of Pastef was arrested following a post castigating the attitude of magistrates in Senegal. Thus, he was charged and placed under a warrant of committal for ” counts of contempt of court, defamation and acts likely to compromise the public peace“, had informed Me Cheikh Khoureyssi Ba.
