Free primary school Sint-Hubertus in Geel Ten Aard has a new multifunctional sports field with facilities for football, hockey, volleyball and badminton. The parent council invested more than 40,000 euros in this.
The sports day in Vrije primary school Sint-Hubertus in Geel Ten Aard started this morning with a special moment. After 3 months of hard work, the parent council was able to open the new multifunctional sports field. “With the delivery of the sports field, we completed the 3rd major project in barely 5 years,” says Pieter Van Aerde, chairman of the parents’ council. “After the nature playground and the traffic park for toddlers, we can now also add a beautiful sports field to our list.”
Initially, the sports field will be used intensively during playing times, but the possibilities are endless. For example, it can also be switched on during gymnastics and movement lessons.
Durable material and softening
Sustainable materials were chosen for the construction of the site. The sports floor is made of plastic tiles that fit together like a puzzle. They are built on a permeable subsoil.
The parent council invested 40,000 euros in the new sports field. That money was collected through the annual Lego® fair Bricks-and-More, among other things. More later in RTV Today.
