Pablo Abián and Clara Azurmendi, favorites in the National Badminton

Pablo Abián, in singles and mixed doubles with Haidee Ojeda, and the flyers Clara Azurmendi and the young promise Ana Setién come out as ffavorites in the Spanish Absolute Badminton and Parabadminton championships that are held from this Friday to next Sunday in Seville with the participation of 148 players.

Of these, 129 are in the absolute category, and 19 in parabadminton in a competition in which 55 teams from Andalusia (7), Madrid (8), the Basque Country (3), Galicia (5), the Valencian Community (7), the Balearic Islands (5), Castilla y León (4), Castilla -La Mancha (2), Aragon (2), Asturias (2), La Rioja (1), Extremadura (1), Cantabria (2), Murcia (2), Catalonia (2) and Navarra (2).

Pablo Abián, champion in recent editions, starts again as the top favorite in both singles and mixed doubles together with Haideé Ojedawhile in the women’s section the presence of the Olympic Clara Azurmendi and Ania Setien; and in parabadminton, Francisco Motero, Ignacio Fernandez, Ivan Segura and Cristina Sanchez de Lechina.

Parallel to the Spanish Championships, the National Inclusive Circuit will also be heldwhich will have up to four couples to play the semifinals and final phases, including Cristina Sánchez de Lechina (with Adrián Corrales) and Iván Segura (with Silvia Redondo).

The competition will begin this Friday at the Alcosa Sports Center with the previous phases and the round of 16, while on Saturday the quarterfinals and semifinals will be played, and on Sunday the finals.
