Olympic day for 300 students

Thursday, May 25, the students of CM1 and CM2 from the André-Malraux school, as well as those of 6th and 5th from the Philippe-Lamour college took part in Olympic Day at the sports park. Placed under the sign of sport, the 300 schoolchildren and college students had the opportunity to practice and discover as a team many disciplines such as cross country, baseball, triathlon, archery, rugby ultimate, or even climbing.

Sport and nutrition workshops

But, beyond the practice and discovery of sport, this day was indeed a key moment to promote education through sport and put civic and sporting values ​​at the heart of education. In addition, various workshops on the culture of sport, nutrition, health and the environment were offered to students thanks to the intervention of the Agglomeration of the Pays de l’or, the Amos Sport Business school and the Grand Mottois sports clubs.

This Olympic day is part of all the actions carried out by the City as part of the Terre de Jeux 2024 label. It is also a mobilization action around the Olympic and sporting values. For more than sixty years, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has invited National Committees around the world to celebrate the anniversary of its creation by organizing a race for the general public.

Meetings and conferences

The concept of Olympic Day is expressed through activities offered to as many people as possible: physical and sporting activities, craft or cultural workshops, conferences, sports demonstrations, meetings with athletes who have taken part in the Olympic Games. Since obtaining the label, the City regularly organizes Olympic days, meetings with champions, conferences and other activities open to the general public.
