Another great result for the Under 17 Eccellenza players of Pallacanestro Forlì 2.015 who, with Sunday’s victory against College Borgomanero, finished the “Interregional Group” in third place, thus qualifying for the play-offs which will give access to the national finals. The next opponent will be New Basket Brindisi, in a challenge, at the moment, with time and place still to be defined. This is a prestigious result, which sees the young mercurials being among the best 24 teams in Italy. The 8 teams that won the respective “Interregional Group” (Napoli Basket, Sant’Elpidio, Stella Azzurra, Virtus Roma 1960, Olimpia Milano, Orange1 Bassano, Pallacanestro Brescia, Reyer Venezia) have already qualified for the national finals, and the 7 that they won the play-offs already played (Cab Stamura Ancona, Unibasket Lanciano, Pall. Stella Azzurra Viterbo, Virtus Bologna, Pallacanestro Vado, Scaligera Verona, Basket Roma).
The match won against Borgomanero on Sunday was very special: coach Gandolfi’s line-up presented itself to the challenge after weeks in which they basically never managed to train, but the approach to the match was positive and at the end of the first fourth the score was 10-22: an advantage then maintained with constancy and determination throughout the game.
