NBA: Warriors president and general manager Bob Myers resigns

Golden State Warriors president and general manager Bob Myers has announced his resignation, reports ESPN mardi.

Myers was the architect of four championships in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022 in addition to being named manager of the year twice.

“It’s just time,” said Myers, whose contract expires at the end of June, at ESPN. Myers said he turned down an offer from the owners that would have made him one of the highest-paid executives in the NBA.

Leadership, the ability to assess talent, and respect from everyone in the industry could make Myers an ideal candidate for an organization looking to welcome a new co-owner or top executive.

In 12 years with the Warriors, Myers created a dynasty of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and head coach Steve Kerr. Myers has contacted each of those four people in the past few days to tell them he was considering leaving the Warriors.
