National team captain Dennis Schröder has no doubts about the outstanding NBA career of super talent Victor Wembanyama.

“If he does the things that matter, then he can definitely do it. Put in the hard work, let yourself be treated well, then: The sky is the limit,” said the Los Angeles Lakers guard to the German press Agency before the draft lottery in the best basketball league in the world.

On the night of Wednesday, a draw will be made in Chicago as to which team will be the first to select a young player from the pool of registered talents in the draft after the NBA season – this organization will almost certainly choose the 19-year-old Frenchman Wembanyama.

Wembanyana in the footsteps of LeBron James?

Wembanyana is considered the greatest talent since LeBron James. He also joined the NBA as a teenager in 2003, right out of high school, and has scored more points in the NBA than any other player since that season.

At 2.18 meters, Wembanyama is exceptionally tall even for a basketball pro. In addition, he has an outstanding feel for the ball and mobility, which otherwise only much smaller players have.

“He’s unique. He has the size, the skills, can dribble, can throw. In the end, we’ve never seen him the way he is,” said Schröder. “Nevertheless, he has to keep working hard. Of course, whoever drafts him also has to learn him. I hope he gets into a good organization. Then of course he will be one of the best ever played.”
