Urz. The national Asgu pilots continue their apprenticeship. Last weekend, in Limoges (Haute-Vienne), the fifth and sixth rounds of the French BMX Cup took place, in which two of Asgu’s three national riders, Matéo Girard and Julian Léger participated (as a reminder , Zoé Lanoue is currently treating a sprained ankle).
The first had a complicated day on Saturday, failing in qualifying (final ranking: 106 e ), but did much better the next day, just missing out on qualifying (3 e in catch-up, and 85 e in general). Julian, from Saturday, climbed to the round of 16, but experienced a technical incident (boot clicked from the start) which deprived him of any chance of going further (ranking: 57 e ). Sunday was even better, since the member of Asgu took another step to reach the quarter-finals, a first for him at this level! Facing powerful opponents accustomed to the final races, he finished seventh in his race and 27 e to the general. A great satisfaction for Guillaume Vasselet, the club’s coach, always present alongside his young foals.
Deadlines. Next competitions for the Asgu pilots: today, Burgundy-Franche-Comté championship in Messigny-et-Vantoux (Côte-d’Or), then French championship in Avensan (Gironde), at the beginning of July.
