Matthieu Pavon remains in the lead in Rome, Julien Guerrier 2nd

Matthieu Pavon keeps his hand in Italy. In form on Thursday, the 30-year-old relied on a solid 70 card (4 birdies, 3 bogeys) in his second round. The winner of the Open de Mont de Marsan in 2018 therefore retains the lead of the tournament alone (-9 total) with two lengths ahead of his first two pursuers (-7 total). Within this duo, we find another Frenchman. Indeed, Julien Guerrier also showed his advantage on Roman soil, recording a score of 69 this Friday (5 birdies, 3 bogeys). He is accompanied by Adrian Otaegui. The Spaniard finished the course of the next Ryder Cup in 67 shots (1 eagle at 1, 5 birdies, 3 bogeys).

Another Frenchman in the top 5

At -6 total, Adrian Meronk is alone in 4th place. Three golfers share the 5th position including Victor Perez. The latter oscillated between the good (1 eagle at 18, 7 birdies) and the less good (1 double bogey at 8, 4 bogeys), to finally return a card of 68. Alongside him, at -5 total, are also Alexander Bjork and Tapio Pulkkanen. This top 10 is completed by six competitors, 8th, at -4. This group includes Daniel Van Tonder, Rafa Cabrera Bello, Matthew Baldwin, Jordan Smith, Jorge Campillo and Marcel Siem.

Sordet, Langasque and Brun en ambuscade

Thanks to a record of 70 (3 birdies, 2 bogeys) Clément Sordet climbs to 14th place (-3 total). If he returned a card just above par (2 birdies, 3 bogeys), Romain Langasque clings and ranks 19th (-2 total). With a second round concluded with a score of 70 (5 birdies, 4 bogeys), Julien Brun took him 25th position (-1 total). Alexander Levy, David Ravetto and Jeong weon Ko finished 32nd (overall).

Many tricolor representatives have passed the cut set at +2

For his part, Mike Lorenzo-Vera is 50th (+1 total). Well launched Thursday with a card of 70, Antoine Rozner had more difficulties during his second round. Thus, the 30-year-old needed 74 shots (5 birdies, 1 double bogey, 6 bogeys) to finish the course. 62nd, the Frenchman still narrowly passes the cut, at +2 total, like Robin Sciot-Siegrist. Conversely, other tricolor representatives will not play this weekend. This is the case of Gary Stal (81st, +4 total), Grégory Havret (122nd, +8), Adrien Saddier (136th, +10), Victor Dubuisson, who did not go to the end of his round, and of Joël Stalter who did not take part in this second round.
