Malaga is already waiting for Rafa Nadal

Rafa Nadal wants to play next November with Spain, at the Martín Carpena, in the Davis Cup. The Balearic tennis player confirmed this Thursday in Manacor that he is temporarily leaving the tennis courts due to that psoas injury that has not fully healed. “It is a full stop”, confirmed the Spaniard moments after announcing that he will not be at Roland Garros, his fetish tournament.

With the date of return to the slopes pending its evolution, Nadal left the door open to a possible comeback in the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga: “I am going to try to regenerate my body these months, without setting a return date, my intention is when I feel physically ready, and I suppose that I will also be mentally ready; it could be an objective to try to reach the end of the year and be able to play the Cup Davis, if I felt ready, and David Ferrer deems it appropriate. If it is not possible, the idea is to return in 2024, which will be my last year“, he claimed.

“I think I don’t deserve to finish like this, that my end is not in a press conference, otherwise; I will strive to make it on the track. Next year a stage for me will come to an end, from which we have been happy, we would never have dreamed of living, to be moved and from there another will begin, which should not be less happy. I want the last year to be a good final fireworks, I will do my best for it”, reflected Rafa Nadal.

The Málaga Davis Cup finals will be played from November 21 to 26. If Rafa Nadal is definitely at that event, Málaga and Martín Carpena will become the epicenter not only of tennis but of a large part of world sport with the return to the slopes of one of the best athletes in the world. The countdown is already on.
