Basket from Anfield Road

In the meantime, Leipzig is said to have failed with a transfer request from Liverpool FC. According to The Times, an offer from the Saxons for midfielder Fábio Carvalho as “ridiculous” dismissed. Although the Reds are open to offers for the 20-year-old, Liverpool only have a loan option. Jürgen Klopp’s team still sees the youngster as an important player for the future, despite a lack of playing time in the past season.

Carvalho switched from Fulham FC to Anfield last summer for the equivalent of around six million euros. In his first year under Klopp, however, the technically talented right-footed player only played ten percent of the possible minutes. Klopp recently hinted that Carvalho should get more match practice elsewhere: “There is a possibility that he will be loaned out.” The youngster is tied to Liverpool until 2027.
