Katia Castillo Bustos, judoka UAEMéx, qualifies for the Central American and Caribbean Games

The judoka from the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEMéx), Katia Castillo Bustos will be wearing the colors of the Mexican National Team within the Central American and Caribbean Games, to be held in San Salvador, at the end of June.

The Mexican Judo Federation itself announced that Castillo Bustos has her ticket to be in the 70 kilograms category, the first time that the athlete will participate in said classification.

The coach of the Mexiquense Autonomous University, Carlos Alberto García Montes de Oca, said he was satisfied with this achievement of the student of the Environmental Sciences Degree from the Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning of the UAEMéx.

“We are very happy for the classification of Katia Castillo, since for a long time she had been looking for this pass to the Central American and Caribbean Games, now within the 70 kilogram category, for which she had to add points and she was able to achieve it by finishing classified in sixth place in the ranking and already has her ticket”, commented the university coach.

It is expected that in this contest Katia Castillo can be located within the first five places in her category, within the competition.

“We hope he does very well. It is his first event in the 70-kilogram category. It will be complicated, difficult, since there are judokas with a lot of experience in this category, but being in the Central American Games is a first step,” he explained. Carlos Garcia.

He added that this competition will serve as a blank, with the intention that he can get his pass to the Pan American Games, to be held in Peru, in October.
