Jason Day wins on the gong in Texas

A triumph synonymous with a return to basics. On May 23, 2010, Jason Day won his first victory on the PGA Tour, already on the occasion of the AT & T Byron Nelson. Thirteen years later, almost to the day, the Australian signed his thirteenth success on the American circuit, the first since 2018. At the foot of the podium before the start of the fourth round, the 35-year-old had to work until at the end to stay alone at the top of the ranking (-23 total).

A breathtaking fight with Si Woo Kim

Indeed, for a few minutes, Si Woo Kim returned to equality in the final after recording his eighth birdie of the day (no error) on the 18th. However, Jason Day answered him in stride with a birdie on the same hole to validate a very good card of 62 (9 birdies). At the end of this epic fight, Si Woo Kim takes 2nd place (-22 total), alongside Austin Eckroat. Author of 4 birdies on the return (6 in all for a record of 65), the American made a good comeback at the end of the course.

Scheffler revived but couldn’t fight for the win

Both men have a head start on CTPan. Only 4th (-21 total), the Taiwanese finished the tournament in cannonball with a score of 62 (2 eagles, 6 birdies, 1 bogey). For his part, Scottie Scheffler is in 5th place. After a somewhat lackluster third round, the winner of the Players Championship 2023 revived well with a final card of 65 (6 birdies, no errors). At -20 total, he is accompanied by the Englishman Tyrrell Hatton and the Chinese Zecheng Dou.

Co-leader at the end of the third round, the latter was less lively this Sunday, completing the course of TPC Craig Ranch in 67 strokes (7 birdies, 1 bogey, 1 double bogey at hole number 8). The top 10 is completed by a trio in 8th place (-19 total). It includes Vincent Norman, Adam Scott and Ryan Palmer.
