Regarding the preparation, he said that “I feel prepared because I am training every day. I have been doing running and gym. I am up for the challenge. Although we don’t talk much about the level that Alfredo can have, he sees me as good for this tournament. I’ve never been in a competition like this.”.

He also spoke about the objectives, the judoka was accurate. “The main thing is to go looking for a medal, then gain experience and have a good time with my teammates. I think I’m in a position to win a medal.”.

His father Mauricio Kunkel stated that “It is a great satisfaction because for him the things that happen to him are all achievements. Every little step he takes fills us with pride and we want him to continue forward as he always does because he leads the way with everything. The teacher always told us that Ale is here for this but the truth is that one did not expect it because it is very difficult to get there, but he was given this opportunity to go to an international tournament and we hope that he will be the first of several ”.

While Alfredo Acosta about his student argued that “As the coach of the national team we want the boys to gain experience but our goal is the 2024/2028 Olympic cycle. With Ale it is a job that we have had since we were eight years old for this to reach this Olympic cycle ”.

In addition, regarding the expectations of the tournament, he said that “The truth is that neither he nor I know what the international level is. Alejandro in his competitive experience always fought with conventional judoka and with blind men he only did it in training. It is totally different to fight with a blind man than with a conventional one for him. We train to win, if we manage to win all the fights we will have a medal “.
