FORNACI – Under the guidance of the National Technical Director Maestro Giuseppe Macrì black belt 6th Dan, there were two intense days of hard work, for fifty athletes from all over Italy who gathered at the Fornaci Judo Club Gym to summon the Director National Technician; the team of athletes who will leave for the next European Men’s and Women’s Masters Championships scheduled in Podcetrtek, Slovenia, on 12 and 13 June, had to be defined.
Among the positive things that emerged, it should be known that, after the push from all the national staff, the athlete of the Judo Club Fornaci Marco Gigli, black belt 6th Dan, accepted the call-up and I will therefore be among the blues leaving for the Slovenia.
Marco, after the disappointment of Krakow at the last World Championships, had expressed the desire to leave competitive sport, however, meeting up with his colleagues, he finally decided to be present at such an important event as the European Judo Championship.
As far as the Judo Club Fornaci is concerned, the summons of Cristina Marsili, black belt next 5th Dan and Giuliano Rossi, the new star who hopefully will be able to express all his potential this time, having already touched the podium in Krakow .
What is certain is that a result of the three athletes would be the best encouragement for the usual final evening of the activities of the Fornaci gym which will be held on Friday 16 June at the “Il Campone” Educational Recreational Center in Fornaci di Barga, starting at 18.30 . During the event, a dinner based on local products in an evening of entertainment and sport presented by Claudio Sottili of Radio Monte Carlo.
A special evening because it celebrates 60 years of activity of the Judo Club Fornaci gym as well as the recent and important recognition of the Golden Star for Sporting Merit. The organizational machine is in motion.
