FCN: A replacement of Dieter Hecking is not an issue on the supervisory board! | Sports

How’s it going? 1. FC Nürnberg?

On the last matchday in Paderborn (1:0) the club was able to avoid the relegation horror. But instead of arriving in first to sixth place as planned, FCN is only in 14th place at the end of a completely messed-up season with two trainers being fired (Klauß, Weinzierl).

The focus of criticism from many fans: sports director and interim coach Dieter Hecking (58). The Ultras in particular became clear with their banners at the last few games (“Don’t show false pride now, Dieter! Resign before being fired, for the good of the club!”).

Although FCN has hardly developed at all since Hecking took office in 2020, the club boss is combative and wants to continue. And according to BILD information, the tendency on the supervisory board should also be that Hecking is allowed to stay!

The entire control committee wants to meet with Hecking this week to analyze the past season and draw the right conclusions for the coming season.

It is also clear: a hecking ejection would be extremely expensive for the clammy FCN! FCN would probably have to pay up to one million euros in severance pay.

Which also speaks for Hecking’s whereabouts: According to BILD information, concrete talks with possible successors have not yet been held, but have been postponed.
