Dhe Schalke management has big things in mind again after being relegated to the second division. The budget for the team has to be significantly reduced again. It roughly corresponds to what was spent in the 2021/22 promotion season. This means that Schalke should not take a top spot in the lower house – but it would still be easier for club boss Peter Knäbel and André Hechelmann, who is to become the new sports director, to put together a team through various favorable factors than was the case after the last relegation.
And the decisive figure with regard to the future remains on board in any case.
