Portuguese international Raphaël Guerreiro will not extend his contract at Borussia Dortmund. French striker Anthony Modeste will also leave.

A page turns at Borussia Dortmund. The German club has confirmed, not without emotion, that Raphaël Guerreiro will not extend his contract which expires on June 30. Born in Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint-Denis), revealed in Caen then Lorient, Guerreiro joined Dortmund in 2016, where he played 224 matches. The left side has 63 selections with Portugal, selection with which he won Euro 2016.

Right-back Felix Passlack and midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud will also not extend their terms with Dortmund, who missed out on the Bundesliga title on the final day on Saturday.

Bensebaini to replace Guerreiro at Dortmund

At 29, Guerreiro will therefore bounce back to another Champions League level club. Inter Milan and Atlético de Madrid are said to be among his courtiers. Dortmund should replace him with another former Ligue 1 player: Ramy Bensebaini, former Montpellier and Rennes. The Algerian international (28) has made a solid reputation in Mönchengladbach, where he is out of contract. According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the player has already passed his medical examination in Dortmund.
