Doctor of America ignites controversy: attempted sports homicide?

Falque’s injury led to complaints about arbitration and a possible plan to leave them out of the League.

América de Cali’s defeat against Atlético Nacional (2-1) continues to generate controversy days after a match full of complaints.

Carlos Muñoz, the scarlet team doctor, made serious complaints after the injury to Iago Falque, for which there was only a yellow card punishment when it ended in a fracture and months off the pitch.

The specialist said that throughout the match there were problems with the refereeing: “At some point in the game the referee yelled at our players, so I told him to tone it down; but when the claims were made by those of Nacional, he remained silent, ”said Muñoz on the ‘Deportes Sin Tabujos’ program in Cali.

“There are Referees who show fear on their faces and who are not doing it objectively, they are adjusting, something is happening,” he added.

But his annoyance rose in tone later: “I thought that what I experienced in the 80s was just a precedent. What happened to Iago Falque is minimal with what happened last night in the match, they are not even ashamed… yesterday’s referee was nervous… Nothing is going to happen here in Colombia, corruption permeated the politics and Colombian soccer”.

When talking about Falque’s injury, his disagreement skyrocketed: “We from the bank heard Iago Falque’s tibia fracture, this was an attempted sports homicide. After Iago’s fracture, the referee was nervous, at least they should have given the Nacional player a red card, ”he said.
