Frenchman Corentin Moutet disposed of ex-world number 3 Dominic Thiem in straight sets in the second round of the Challenger in Bordeaux.

After an extended first set, Corentin Moutet tamed Dominic Thiem this Wednesday in the second round of the Bordeaux Challenger tournament (6-7, 1-6). The Frenchman, 67th player in the world, imposed his rhythm despite a strong wind on the Bordeaux clay court.

Thiem, former N.3 who fell to 96th place, will not see the quarter-finals where Moutet (24) will face Jan-Lennard Struff (world N.28). The German remains in a final at the Masters 1000 in Madrid where he stood up to Carlos Alcaraz (6-4, 3-6, 6-3).
