Celtics beat Heat in Game 6 thanks to Derrick White and will travel to Boston for Game 7

Only three teams in NBA history had tied a playoff series after losing the first three games and now the Boston Celtics became the fourth by beating the Miami Heat 104-103 in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Everything seemed defined after three free from Jimmy Butler, Derrick White hit a tapas while the timer expired to put the final score after recovering an offensive rebound after a 3-pointer by Marcus Smart that went in and out of the basket.

Jayson Tatum scored 25 in the first half and he struggled to score again during the third and fourth quarters. The ‘0’ of the Celtics only added six points in the last quarter and managed to accumulate 31 points with 11 rebounds and five assists after almost 44 minutes on the court.

Jaylen Brown he had a good first half with 13 points, but committed his fourth foul right at the start of the third period. The guard, who finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds, responded in a good way and led the Celtics while Tatum was dry.

Marcus Smart and White were the only Celtics with enough accuracy to hit 3-pointers. Of Boston’s seven of 35 3-pointers made, four were by Smart and three by White. Malcolm Brogdon’s absence through injury forced both guards to play more than 42 minutes.

Dominican Al Horford fought fiercely for rebounds and it didn’t matter that his offensive contribution was just four points and two assists. The one from Puerto Plata recovered seven boards and made two blocks.

Turnovers nearly cost the Celtics the game. Boston committed 12 turnovers and Miami scored 11 points from takeaways.

Complicated night for Butler in field goals

Jimmy Butler came close to signing a triple double of 24 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists, but went 5-21 from the field. Caleb Martin’s offensive contribution kept Miami afloat as he added 21 points and 15 rebounds.

Bam Adebayo had a double-double of 11 points and 13 recovered boards, but he only made 4 of 16 shots. Duncan Robinson had a chance to win to give Miami the lead before Butler’s free practice, but the guard missed his shot from three points with 22 seconds left.
