Camerata Romeu proposes a night of tango with a Spanish accent in Cuba

Under the direction of the teacher Zenaida Romeu, at the official headquarters of this musical group, the Minor Basilica of the Convent of San Francisco de Asís, they will perform works by the Argentinean Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) and his Estaciones Porteñas, plus the intense and emotional Oblivion, according to the grouping.

The preparations are currently in full process, to deliver a luxury concert on Saturday in its usual space in the Historic Center of Havana, accompanied by actress Laura de la Uz, reported the members and their producer Cinthia Oviedo.

Starring in films such as Hello Hemingway (1990), her film debut, The Wall of Words (2014) and Wedding Dress (2014), the artist-turned-reciter will perform at the camerata concert show with the poem La Ginesta , by Joan Maragall (1860-1911), considered one of the fathers of Catalan poetry.

It is a poem set to music in the work Vista al Mar, by the also Spanish Eduardo Toldrá.

Camerata Romeu emerged in 1993 proposing something unprecedented to the Cuban music scene: a string ensemble inherited from the Central European tradition.
