Surprising Sunday for the athletes of our Bra judo sports association, engaged in the A1 finals of the Italian Cadet Championships, the top-level national under 18 competition held in Ostia (RM) on 23 April.

Among the three participants, the performance of Simone Vitale certainly shines who, after 4 matches played with athletes of high national and international level, manages to capture the 3rd place in the -66kg category. A superb result that highlighted the character and skill of the boy who, at just fifteen years of age, competed in a competitive category and with opponents older than him. Simone had already distinguished himself last year in the National finals of the Beginners category B (U15), where he had conquered the title of Vice-Champion of Italy, a result which by right led him on Sunday to compete in the same competition but in the category older. Winning two initial matches with clear supremacy, he gives way in the semifinals to the strong athlete from Perugia who won the category. In the final for third place, Simone showed a grit that led him to dominate the match, conquering the lowest step of the podium. In addition to being the youngest medalist in the category, with the result obtained he conquers the coveted 1st Dan black belt at the young age of 15, a goal that only a few have managed to achieve. By now among the athletes of national interest, Simone will certainly be taken into consideration for the international competitions that will establish the starting team that will participate in the European and World Cadet Championships.

In addition to Simone, Cavaglià Marika and Macis Jennifer took part in the competition who, despite being high-level athletes, stop after winning one match each. Also medaled last year at the national finals of Category B, they are two talented athletes who will certainly emerge in the coming years.

Excellent results that highlight the intense and continuous activity of Maestro Carnebianca’s work, which continues to bring our city to high national and international levels with magnificent results.
