Bezzecchi fastest in testing at Jerez, Quartararo finds colors

Accidented and penalized this Sunday, Fabio Quartararo found good feelings, unlike his compatriot Johann Zarco.

The Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati-VR46) was the fastest Monday of the MotoGP test day organized on the circuit of Jerez de la Frontera (Spain), the day after the Grand Prix which saw his compatriot Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) take the lead in the MotoGP world championship.

Bezzecchi beat another Italian, Luca Marini, who is his teammate in the VR46 team of ex-world champion Valentino Rossi. Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) is 3rd.

The latter was coming out of a particularly difficult weekend on the Andalusian circuit where he first obtained his worst qualifying position since his debut in MotoGP, in 2019, before falling heavily at the start of the race. He was, however, able to make the second start but only finished 10th in the race almost 16 seconds behind Bagnaia.

The Italian, reigning world champion, achieved the 6th time on Monday after his victory the day before which allowed him to take the lead in the championship with 22 points ahead of Bezzecchi, who fell to him.

The other Frenchman engaged in MotoGP, Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac), achieved the 13th time on Monday. He had also fallen during the race on Sunday.
