A young person to the rescue to replace Fomba against Valenciennes?

In the absence of Lamine Fomba hit in the knee, Laurent Batlles could integrate a young player from the training center to strengthen his workforce in midfield during the match against Valenciennes. Three players seem to stand out: Mouton, Gauthier and Fall.

Touched this week in training, Laminate Form will be forfeited for the reception of Valenciennes this weekend at Geoffroy-Guichard. If the length of the player’s unavailability is not yet known, he must undergo additional examinations to determine the exact nature of his knee injury, as Laurent Batlles told a press conference on Wednesday: “I have bad news, especially about Lamine Fomba who hurt his knee yesterday. He will have an MRI tomorrow. We don’t really know how to be, we are waiting to know the results of the exams. put on a splint, he saw the doctor again this morning.”

If Thomas Monconduit and Aïmen Moueffek are plausible and logical solutions to his replacement, Laurent Batlles could be tempted to (re)give some young players from the training center a chance. This is particularly the case of Louis Mouton who has played 16 games this season with the pros (6 starts) and who has a profile that matches that of Fomba or evenAntoine Gauthier repositioned lower in reserve and which pleases the coach. Finally Sheikh fall, revelation of the season in N3, has been gaining momentum very quickly since his arrival with the Greens last summer, effective offensively and as formidable with his head as with his feet, the Senegalese should quickly have his chance at the next level. At a press conference on Wednesday, Laurent Batlles spoke about the potential choices that will present themselves to him for Friday’s meeting against Valenciennes: “Sheikh is here with us, Louis too, I don’t know yet, we’ll see how they are. Louis hasn’t played for a while too, we’ll see tomorrow’s training sessions once they’re finalized and see if we make a choice between these two players then see another player. I’m waiting for tomorrow’s training to be able to finalize the group. The team will not be particularly difficult to make but after that it’s always annoying to lose a player who had a good match in Caen (Fomba), it’s a shame both for him and both for us. It’s part of the job despite everything, we have a lot of players in this sector, I’m not particularly bothered about the choices I’m going to make for the team.”

Antoine Gauthier’s season:

  • L2: One match played (against Bastia 5-0)
  • N3: 18 games (one goal)
  • U19: Three games played

Louis Mouton’s season:

  • L2: 16 games (6 starts, one goal)
  • N3: 6 matches (3 goals)

Cheikh Fall season:

  • N3: 21 games (4 goals)
  • U19: 4 games (4 goals)
