Toronto Raptors win easily at Charlotte Hornets

In the first game of the NBA evening on Sunday, the Toronto Raptors clearly won against the Charlotte Hornets (128-108). The North Carolina franchise is out of the running to reach the play-offs, while its Canadian counterpart is in the fight for a play-in spot.

20 points and 20 assists for VanVleet

Toronto already had a good lead at the break (67-52) and did not have to fear a comeback from the Hornets. Pascal Siakam was the main architect of the Raptors’ victory, with 36 points (16/24 in shooting including 2/7 at three points). Fred VanVleet delivered 20 assists, setting a new record for his team. Having put up 20 points, he also became the first Raptor to go 20-20 in points-assists.

On the side of Charlotte, the Ukrainian Svi Mykhailiuk was the most effective (26 pts). Théo Maledon played 41 minutes, for eight points (4/16 including 0/6 three-pointers), eight rebounds and 14 assists.
