The Grays are already tightening the nuts and waiting for David Stockton next week

In the midst of a 0-4 start, the screw adjustments in the Grises de Humacao squad began this week and could be extended during the next week, when the point guard should be on the field with them David Stockton.

The proxy of the Grays in the National Superior Basketball (BSN)Roberto Roca, said that the imports that were brought in to start the season did not perform what was expected of them, so the changes began on Wednesday with the departure of Justin Dentmon and the entry of Thomas Robinson.

“We are evaluating all reinforcements right now. They have not shown off and we are looking at alternatives”, said Roca. “Robinson is a candidate to stay, we are evaluating Janis Timma and Timothy Soares, because they have not given us what we expected.”

In the Grays’ four games, Soares has had 10 points, eight rebounds per game, while he has collected 9 and 2.8 per game. In two games, Dentmon had eight points and nine assists. Robinson made his debut Wednesday and had 24 points and 15 rebounds, but the Grays lost again.

“We are incomplete yet, but we cannot go too far down. That is why we are evaluating everything from now on, all the reinforcements, which are the ones that should charge us. We have already brought Robinson and in the next few days we will see how we will proceed, ”he assured.

“Moves are going to be made. There is no panic, the season is long. And we knew that not having the players, like the quarterback that we expected (Stockton) has made it a bit difficult for us, ”he admitted.

The Grays are still playing without point guards Gaby Belardo and Stockton.

Stockton played in the G League for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, a team affiliated with the Indiana Pacers of the NBA. On Wednesday they were eliminated from the postseason of that tournament during the quarterfinal stage.

Roca said that if all goes as expected, Stockton would join the team next week.

The Grays also traded one of the fixtures of their past editions, basket player Jorge Matos, in a transaction that gave them forward Jared Ruiz from the Indios de Mayagüez.

“With the team we have, we needed a guy who creates plays on the floor and we didn’t have him. So we decided to make the change to bring Jared,” said the attorney.

“But the (players) will already be arriving so soon we will be righting the ship,” Roca concluded.
