The eleventh Spanish badminton classic in the Club League between Recreativo IES La Orden and CB Rinconada-Sevilla (one of the 30 clubs that are part of ACELITE) will decide the 2023 League title, which begins this Saturday in the first leg of the final at the Andrés Estrada de Huelva Pavilion.
Recreativo IES La Orden, which will seek its eighth title, finished in the regular phase of the competition as group A champion, with seven wins and one loss to add 21 points, nine more than the second; and in the semifinals they beat CB Arjonilla.
For its part, CB Rinconada, which aspires to its thirteenth title, also prevailed in group B with a 7-1 balance and was proclaimed champion on the last day; and then defeated CB Oviedo in the semifinals.
The corner team is the most successful team in the history of the competition with 12 titles. He made his debut winning in the 1992-93 and 1993-94 seasons, and after that double and seven consecutive titles for CB Alicante, between 1995 and 2022, he chained the best winning streak in the League with ten consecutive titles between 2022 and 2012.
The last four of this series were won against Recreativo Badminton IES La Orden, which later beat the Sevillian club in the finals of the 2012-14 and 2013-2014 campaigns. After winning CB Oviedo in 2014-2015, the Huelva club won four more trophies between 2015 and 2019.
The 2019-2020 final was going to be played by La Orden and Rinconada, but it was left deserted due to the pandemic, and in the 2021-22 campaign Oviedo won again over Rinconada, who beat those from Huelva in the semifinals.
In the last season, 2021-2022, after recovering the category after a controversial administrative relegation, the Huelva team was champion again to place their seventh cup in the showcases.
