Tadej Pogacar “lucky to only have his wrist broken” after his fall in Liège-Bastogne-Liège

Fallen this Sunday during Liège-Bastogne-Liège after only 85 kilometers of racing, Tadej Pogacar fractured his wrist in two places. Operated directly in Genk, the Slovenian sent a message on his social networks, in particular to thank his supporters. “It’s hard to describe how happy I am to receive such support from my fans, my family, my friends, my UAE-Emirates team and the medical team”he wrote.

His accident occurred more than 180 kilometers from the finish when Mikkel Honoré (EF Education-EasyPost) rolled into a hole and fell after his tires exploded. “I’m lucky to only have my wrist broken in view of the terrible accident that took place. I really wish a good recovery to Honoré who fell much more heavily than me »added the winner of the Tour of Flanders, the Amstel Gold Race and the Flèche Wallonne.
