LIVE BALL – Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has decided who will take the Gunners’ next penalty following Bukayo Saka’s crucial miss against West Ham last weekend.
Saka failed to convert from the penalty spot as Arsenal led 2-1 against The Hammers, and that saw David Moyes’ side come back and score.
As a result, Arsenal suffered a big loss by losing two important points in the Premier League title race.
Arteta insisted, however, that he would not remove Saka from penalty-taking duties. He said this in his pre-match press conference against Southampton on Friday night.
Arsenal boss asked if Saka would remain the club’s first choice penalty taker, Arteta said:
‘Yes! If not, I’ll go on the field and throw him the ball and make sure he catches the next ball.’
The Spaniard also discussed the disappointment the England star felt after missing a vital penalty.
