Remco Evenepoel fordert Tadej Pogacar heraus

Dhe great unknown comes from above, from the training camp in Tenerife. Well, this 23-year-old is not entirely unknown. Remco Evenepoel won the World Cup last fall. He also won the Vuelta a España. Now he wants to put Tadej Pogacar in his place. “Remco trained well at altitude. He’s motivated and ready for the Giro d’Italia and for Liège-Bastogne-Liège,” said his sporting director Geert Van Bondt, throwing the glove into the ring for his protégé.

He has at least four wins this season. He stayed out of the race for a month to get in shape for the Giro d’Italia at the altitude training camp. There he is aiming for a Grand Tour double consisting of Vuelta and Giro, separated only by the turn of the year. Before that, however, he would like to take a classic monument with him and at the same time spoil the soup for Pogacar, who is only one year older.
