NBA: Knicks star Julian Randle slaps own teammate Jalen Brunson – US SPORT NBA BASKETBALL

Ouch, double smack!

After the disappointing home defeat against the New York Knicks, this time they managed to thrill their fans and return the favor with a clear 107:90 win. The hosts played particularly well in a strong second quarter, in which Darius Garland (23) alone scored 15 of his 32 points.

But the scene of the game came from the Knicks: After a dunk attempt by Cleveland’s Garland, Knicks star Julius Randle (28) quickly turns to start the counterattack. Randle swings his left hand through the face of teammate Jalen Brunson (26), who is standing behind him. Intention? No. It still hurts, Brunson is holding his left eye, but can continue playing shortly afterwards.

In the Knicks, German center Isaiah Hartenstein (24) had four points, seven rebounds and five assists, but overall the New York team lacked penetrating power.

Suns equalize the series – 1:1

The Phoenix Suns also managed to equalize! After a bitter home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Suns have now struck back to equalize 1-1 in the best-of-seven series. Devin Booker (26) and Co. dispatched the Clippers with a sovereign 123:109. The star of the game was without question Booker, who had an outstanding evening with 38 points. But his teammate Kevin Durant (34) was also a real weapon with 29 points.

The strong start to the second half was primarily responsible for the Suns’ victory. After an 11-2 run at half-time, they ran another 10-2 right at the start of the third quarter. From then on, the hosts’ lead was no longer in danger. Now the Suns are going to the City of Angels, where the next game is scheduled for Friday (4 a.m.).

Celtics dominate again – 2-0

The Boston Celtics were unstoppable again and now have a 2-0 lead in their series against the Atlanta Hawks. The Celtics’ victory was mainly characterized by a terrific first half of the game, in which they downright dismantled the Hawks with a 17:3 run. The crowning glory of the first quarter was the buzzer beater from Boston’s Malcolm Brogdon (30) – from the center line!

After that, they never gave up the lead and won the second game with a 119:106 win. Top scorer was Jayson Tatum with 29 points. Dejounte Murray (26) also stood out for the Hawks with 29 points.

Green suspended for one game

The Golden State Warriors will have to do without Draymond Green (33) for the third playoff game against the Sacramento Kings. The NBA suspended the defending champion’s forward after his unsportsmanlike action in the second duel. In the middle of the fourth quarter, Kings center Domantas Sabonis (26) went down fighting for the rebound and then grabbed Green’s right leg. He tore himself free and stepped on Sabonis, who was lying on the ground, with his foot. Green then flew straight off the field.

The Warriors lost the game 106-114 and are now under pressure in the best-of-seven series. They are 2-0 down in a playoff series for the first time since 2007. The third game will take place on Friday (4 a.m.) in San Francisco. Without Green, the Warriors must now find a solution to turn the series back their way.
