NBA: Kawhi Leonard’s sister convicted of murder – US SPORT NBA BASKETBALL

For NBA superstar Kawhi Leonard (31) is currently not running on and off the court.

In terms of sport, his Los Angeles Clippers are about to be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs against the Phoenix Suns. Leonard is missing even injured. Now there are also problems away from the hall.

As it became known on Friday, Kimesha Williams (39), one of Leonard’s four sisters, has been convicted of murder!

The superstar’s sister is said to have brutally murdered an 84-year-old woman in a Southern California casino in 2019 along with accomplice Candace Townsel (42). The Riverside County Superior Court now sentenced both to life imprisonment without parole.

This is supposed to have happened: Williams and Townsel reportedly walked into the casino at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula (between Los Angeles and San Diego) with around $1,000. It is not known whether they gambled away the money. Anyway, the two followed the victim as he headed for the toilet. Williams is said to have gone into the room, Townsel was the lookout.

A short time later, a woman in another cabin heard a loud bang. Williams and Townsel were seen fleeing for the exit. The victim was found bleeding on the ground. She suffered a skull fracture and died four days later.

Williams denied responsibility for the murder in a statement read by her attorney at the sentencing hearing. However, the court saw it differently.

Unfortunately, Leonard is familiar with family misfortunes: his father Mark was murdered in a car wash in 2008. To date, however, the perpetrator of the terrible act has not been found.

The day after his father died, Leonard played in a college game. “Basketball is my life and I wanted to get out there and distract myself,” he said at the time. “It was really sad. My father should be at the game.”

In the meantime, Leonard has developed into one of the best players and absolute superstars in the league. In 2019, he was named the Toronto Raptors Champion and named the Best Player of the Finals Series.
