Guaranteed to enter the Top 100, Luca Van Assche wins the San Remo challenger

His qualification for the final of the San Remo challenger tournament was already enough for Luca Van Assche to reach the top 100 in the world for the first time in his career. The Frenchman (18) added style, winning his second title in a row on the lower circuit, after Pau, in early March. On Italian clay, he swept the Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas (88th), 6-1, 6-3 this Sunday. He remains on a series of ten consecutive successes.

On Monday, Van Assche will become the first player born in 2004 to enter the top 100. He will be 91st in the world. This rank ensures him to integrate the final table of Roland-Garros (May 28-June 11), without needing a wild card.
